Vision

To create a community where all families are valued, supported, and empowered with
access to resources and opportunities that foster growth and success for students and
families.

Mission

  • Bridge the gap between families, schools, and community resources by identifying
needs and coordinate effective, holistic support systems.
  • Eliminate barriers that prevent families from accessing resources and opportunities,
ensuring inclusivity and equity for all.
  • Empower families by providing them with the knowledge, tools, and support to
advocate for their needs and navigate available resources confidently.
  • Collaborate with community agencies to create a unified approach in meeting the
diverse needs of students and families.

Family & Children First

Family and Children First provides an opportunity for systems to collaborate in ways that remove barriers for child and family leading to children
being successful at home, in school, and in their community.

Mercer County Family and Children First Council (FCFC) believes that families are our community’s most important resource. Families must be
respected, valued, and encouraged to build upon their strengths. We promote service to children and families by linking children in one system of
care to other systems of care. A service coordination planning process provides an opportunity for systems of care to collaborate in ways that
remove barriers to child and family success.

The Mercer County Parent Mentor provides support and resources to families of children with disabilities and the professionals that serve them. Its
mission is to empower parents to effectively navigate the educational system while providing meaningful support and advocating for the family
